Gov. Bob Holden traveled to Iowa recently to visit with Gov. Terry Branstad as Branstad prepares to tackle his new role as US ambassador to China. Gov. Holden and Gov. Branstad discussed the future of relations between the two superpowers and the need to maintain positive partnerships. Gov. Holden said Gov. Branstad is especially well-suited for the challenges of the job he’s assuming. “I’ve known Terry for many years and have always respected his grasp of trade issues and agricultural issues. Terry also possesses a great understanding of the Chinese and he’ll represent the U.S. on the world stage very well.”
Gov. Branstad also expressed interest in the work of the MWCA. Gov. Holden said Gov. Branstad considers MWCA a significant asset for the U.S. as both countries explore new ways to enhance their relationship.
